Heat
Overnight
Topshelf Records

Overnight is a vehement leap forward, and one that looks set to cement Heat’s status as one of Canada's most formidable exports. Overnight feels resolutely solid: Old-school aesthetics delivered with a defiantly fresh-faced outlook – think New Order meets Love and Rockets meets Beach Slang. Co-produced by Grammy Award winner Alex Newport (Death Cab for Cutie; At the Drive In).

Jake Clemons
Fear & Love
BMG

Jake Clemons has shared the stage with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (he’s a member), The Swell Season, The Roots, and Eddie Vedder to name a few. This is good company to keep if you want to create music that’s as concerned with telling stories as it is with hooks. Springsteen and Clarence Clemons (his uncle) leave an especially strong impression on Fear & Love – an atmospheric, romantic, an surprisingly pop debut from a talent whose star is on the rise.
Deaf Havana
All The Countless Nights
SO Recordings

All the Countless Nights is the highly-anticipated fourth studio album from U.K. rockers Deaf Havana. “We’ve found a new direction in our sound but one that was completely unforced, that’s just how the songs come out of James’ (Veck-Gilodi) brain,” say the band. “It’s the darkest, most honest, most dynamic music we’ve ever written. We’ve never felt this together as a band and we’re all raring to get it started.” Big guitars. Even bigger hooks. If you like your pop LOUD and stadium-ready, then this is your new favorite band.

Fenech-Soler
Zilla
SO Recordings

The bold, shimmering, eclectic pop of ZILLA heralds a thrilling new chapter for the Northamptonshire, England’s Fenech-Soler – now a duo comprising brothers Ben and Ross Duffy. Loaded with personality and pockets of experimentation, ZILLA – named after a close friend – is chock full of positive and upbeat pop songs like synth-lead banger, “On Top,” and the atmospheric soul shimmer of “Night Time TV,” and the three-minutes-thirty-nine-seconds of pure joy that is “Kaleidoscope.”
The Regrettes
Feel Your Feelings Fool! (Explicit)
WB

Writing songs that proudly bear a brazen and unabashed attitude in the vein of acts Distillers or X-Ray Spex with a pop aesthetic reminiscent of 50’s and 60’s acts a-la the Temptations or Buddy Holly –The Regrettes, have a knack for writing infectious, punk driven tracks. From the opening moments of Feel Your Feelings, Fool! we’re greeted with a wall of guitars, infectious melodies and an IDGAF attitude. From the feminist anthem, "A Living Human Girl," to the quieter, at times shoegazey moments of "Bronze," and the nostalgic surf-rock vibes of, "Hey Now", each track is essentially a perfect snapshot of teen angst and sassy rebellion.

David "Honeyboy" Edwards
I'm Gonna Tell You Somethin' That I Know: Live At The G Spot
Omnivore

David “Honeyboy” Edwards was the last of the great Mississippi Delta bluesmen. Born in Shaw, Mississippi, in 1915, his life was intertwined with almost every blues legend including Robert Johnson, Sonny Boy Williamson, Howlin’ Wolf, and Muddy Waters. In early 2010, Honeyboy was awarded the Grammy® Lifetime Achievement Award, and later that year returned to Los Angeles to perform at the G Spot. That show turned out to be the last time Honeyboy was filmed and recorded – and this CD/DVD documents that historic appearance.
Kehlani
SweetSexySavage (Deluxe)
Atlantic

With SWEETSEXYSAVAGE, GRAMMY® Award-nominated, critically-acclaimed R&B pop songstress, Kehlani, breathes life into those three words, and they represent a moment of self-actualization. “SWEETSEXYSAVAGE came to me on a beach in Hawaii,” she says. “I realized that’s what women are. We can hurt. We can also be hurt. We can go as hard as we can go soft. We can be as crazy as we can be sympathetic. We’re all of the above.” Hot on the heels of “Gangster” (from Suicide Squad), SWEETSEXYSAVAGE’s “Distraction” and “Undercover” are proving Kehlani is one of 2017’s hottest artists. She’s a one-woman TLC: Crazy, sexy, and cool.

MUNA
About U
RCA

MUNA – Katie Gavin (lead vocals/production), Naomi McPherson (production/guitar/synths/vocals), and Josette Maskin (lead guitar/vocals) – have written, recorded, self-produced all their releases to date from bedrooms in LA and NYC. About U blends the brooding sensuality of R&B, rhythms of funk and pop rock, and audacity of synthpop with raw, unbridled lyricism that conjures images of Nico jamming with Wendy & Lisa (with some songs by Prince). “Winterbreak” is a pristine beauty. “Loudspeaker” is an absolute jam.
ONE OK ROCK
Ambitions
Fueled By Ramen

ONE OK ROCK is a Japanese rock band that formed in 2005 – but you wouldn’t know it: The stadium-sized pop punkers that make up their aptly-titled new album, Ambitions, sound American as apple pie. Taka Moriuchi (vocals) thinks that this time, “the album is more international. Actually, this is the first time [completely] recording it in the United States. Before, we couldn’t make good conversation with the producers, but this time we’re getting better [and] our English is improved. That’s the main difference this time. I’m super-excited about it. It’s passionate and sounds awesome. The melodies, I think I’m super good, so it’s going to be great.” He’s right.

Code Orange
Forever (Explicit)
Roadrunner

Forever is the follow-up to Code Orange’s 2014's breakthrough I Am King. "Forever captures some of the most punishing noise the band has recorded to date, featuring songs rife with sudden transitions to still-harsher textures," says drummer / co-vocalist Jami Morgan. "Forever opens it up by saying, 'F*ck you, we're here. We're gonna do whatever the f*ck we wanna do, and there are no rules.'” Recorded with producers Will Yip and Kurt Ballou, Forever is a jarring and experimental body of work, with songs like "Bleeding In The Blur," "Kill The Creator," and "Spy pushing the envelope in every conceivable way.
Vivian Cook
The Long Shot
Omnivore

Vivian Cook is blessed with a powerful voice that launches her wiseass tales of love, lust, and chemicals with terrific velocity. Cook grew up in Palo Alto, Calif., and graduated from Georgetown University with degrees in theater and theology – which totally makes sense when considering The Long Shot’s unique blend of Amy Winehouse and The Hold Steady.
